Stefanie Reinhardt
Application Engineering / Development Trainee
How did you first become aware of the Schaeffler Group?
I have known about the Schaeffler Group since my studies when we used the Schaeffler Group catalog for our rolling bearing calculations. At the VDI recruitment event in Ludwigsburg, I used the opportunity to find out more about the Schaeffler Group and establish an initial personal contact.
Why did you decide to go to Schaeffler?
The concept of the trainee program convinced me. A trainee can gain a wide range of experience and create a large network of contacts in 21 months. During the taster day, I was able to gain an impression of my future job and received further information from employees, which helped me to make a decision.
What do you like most at Schaeffler?
I very much like that I can bring forward my own ideas as a trainee. Schaeffler also attaches great importance to employee development, which means that it invests a great deal in advanced training for every employee.
Is your superior open to new ideas and suggestions?
All superiors I have met during the trainee program appreciate new ideas and solutions. This is certainly one of the reasons why the Schaeffler Group is among the innovation leaders in Germany with regard to the number of patent applications. The department where I am currently working is very innovative and has produced many new developments. This would not be possible if the superior was not open to new ideas.
What piece of advice would you give to potential future employees and applicants?
Applicants should think about what goals they want to achieve in the company and how they can contribute to the company’s success with their skills. This is important in order to find the right position from the very beginning.
The Schaeffler Group’s motto is “Together we move the world”. How do you contribute to moving the world?
I am currently working in the application engineering department that is responsible for synchronizations. Synchronizations are required in order to facilitate comfortable gear shifting operations in vehicles. I provide support for customer projects and tests.
